My Story

Since my teens, I’ve been driven to make a meaningful difference in the world, working across areas like climate activism, social impact, and ethical clothing. Over time, I realized my true purpose is fostering human connection.Inspired by my mother’s “Heart Meetings,” I saw how guided conversations that move from judgment and opinion to genuine listening and sharing can transform relationships and communities. This insight led me to co-found HejHumans in 2023, an organization dedicated to spreading empathy, connection, and kind curiosity through workshops, public projects, and community initiatives.Today, I am based in Berlin where I run The Empathy Café, lead practical connection workshops, and provide training for companies on communication, relational skills, and empathy. Our mission is to create spaces, both physical and social, where people feel seen, heard, and valued, and to equip organizations and communities with tools to cultivate deeper human connection.

Projects

The Empathy Café

The Empathy Café is an open space for anyone who wants to slow down and connect beyond small talk. You don’t need any background or special skills to join, only curiosity and a wish to meet people in a genuine way! Each gathering is an invitation to practice the art of listening and being present with others. We explore what happens when we give each other full attention and let conversations unfold. The Empathy Café is also about integration and collaboration. It’s a space where Germans and internationals meet, where different languages, ages, and backgrounds mix easily. People come to share what’s alive in them, to listen, to relax, and to discover how much we all have in common underneath the surface.Every time is a little different. We explore new themes and questions that help us get to know ourselves and each other in different ways.Come by, have a tea, and join a community of people who want to experience empathy in everyday life. Everyone is welcome! The Empathy Café was co-created by Me and my beloved friend Guy Sephton.Join the Telegram group here.📍 Café Zart, Hobrechtstraße 43-47

A moment of presence

https://www.hejhumans.org/A Moment of Presence is a pop-up, public event by HejHumans that can happen anywhere—on a busy street, in a park, or even a quiet square. It’s simple: we go out, put up a sign saying we are there to connect, and then wait and let it unfold. We often miss meaningful human contact in our daily lives. We rush, we’re cautious around strangers, and many of us don’t really know what being “present” feels like in practice.A Moment of Presence changes that. It gives people a safe, playful space to pause, make eye contact, and have real conversations about the things that matter most in life.Research shows that being present with others through meaningful conversations builds trust, safety, and even happiness. It’s simple, it’s human, and it’s surprisingly powerful—one eye gaze, one conversation at a time.Read more on the HejHumans website.Check out this video:
